[ezcol_1third] Sitting under the whirl of the ceiling fan on this sticky, hot morning it's hard to believe that summer in Queensland is on the wane. I've be revelling in the freedom of bare feet in sandals, loose cotton, golden skin and wild, salty curls for so long I can hardly remember what brisk nights huddled by the fireplace feel like - and I'll be holding onto this summer feeling for as long as I can, until the inevitable cool change pulls me to cable knits and a smart haircut once again.
In the past few months I've come up with the perfect hair elixir to channel that beachy, holiday vibe while I get on with real life right here in the city. It's an effective (and much cheaper, and not drying) approximation of the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, and I love the texture it gives not just to my hair, but my whole freckled style.
My DIY Surf Spray Recipe
1 cup warm water 1 tsp sea salt 1/2 tsp coconut oil a dab of hair gel a spray bottle
Just add all the ingredients into a spay bottle, shake, and spritz!
