I'm acutely aware that today's post is pure fodder for the #firstworldproblems hashtag... but let's just go with it… because I'm guessing a whole lot of you can relate to the problem this DIY project is trying to solve.
Don't you just hate the look of your wifi router and wish you could find a clever way to blend it in to your home's lovely decor?
In my house (and possibly in yours?) the router has to sit out in our main living space so its signal can beam outward to the extremities of our homes. Mine necessarily has pride of place on the buffet next to our dining table, which is prime vignetting real-estate, so I've come up with a simple way to camouflage the technology to fit in with our cottage's neo-traditional decor.
DIY WIFI ROUTER RESTYLE
For this DIY re-style all you'll need is an old hard cover book with a spine slightly thicker than your router and a scalpel (or exact0-knife, and I've grown up calling them). There are only two steps.
1. Cut the book away from the inside of its cover by slicing through the title and back pages.
2. Slip your router between the now empty covers. Et Voila!
