I finally got all the supplies together to plant my container garden this week. Peas, tomatoes, baby spinach, and a few other pretty salad leaves are now taking root in four large pots along the sunny front wall of The Spring cottage. For the herbs in smaller pots, I re-purposed an old salvaged bar cart to create the perfect perch. Now I can wheel my more delicate plants in and out of the strong sun and heavy rains so they won't be damaged before reaching delicious maturity. Although they're not much more than sprouts at this point, the patio already looks so much more beautiful and inviting with the growing greens. And we'll enjoy breakfasts at our little bistro table even more surrounded by their savoury scents.
