There's nothing quite like receiving a beautiful card in the post. In these days of emails and texts doesn't proper mail feel so extra thoughtful? When it comes to thank you notes and birthday greetings in particular I like to personalise simple, good quality stationary with stamps, metallic ink, and sometimes even a little colourful illustration (just for fun, I'm no artist!). The result is sweet and sophisticated with the added bonus of practicality. With a couple sets of stamps and a packet of card stock stashed away in the cupboard it's easy to whip up a lovely card appropriate to every occasion without ever getting into a pinch and having to shell out for the least cheesy option on offer at the nearest gift shop.
