Last weekend we took a Sunday drive out to the sleepy old seaside resort town of Sandgate. From the Shorncliffe Jetty up to the wreck of the Guyundah off Woody's Point, this whole area is teeming with beautiful sea views, grandiose Queenslander homes, sweet little seafood cafes and perfect picnic spots with rainbow lorikeets darting about the trees. Lovely. I paired my favourite vintage buttery yellow sweater with a few new purchases from Sydney - including my goes-with-everything Tony Bianco boots and the most flattering 'always skinny' jeans ever from the Gap. And by the way, there really ought be a Gap in Brisbane... it's like not having a McDonalds or a Starbucks... you almost never want it, but it's just supposed to be there. When someone alerts the WTO to this and a Gap finally does appear let's all agree now that it shouldn't be at Sandgate, because this little town is perfectly civilised just as it is.
