Information for Sponsors

Hello! If you are a designer, photographer, boutique/salon owner, market stall curator, entrepreneur, or maker of awesome, crafty, useful, chic things, then perhaps you would like to become a sponsor at The Spring.

Sponsorship Package:

My readers are wonderful, and I want to reward them with information about and chances to win products/services I know they’ll love. Sponsors are businesses who buy sidebar ad space and donate items, services, vouchers, or discounts to be given away on The Spring. In turn, the business receives:

• A feature post describing the product or service, why I love it, and the details of the giveaway. (see example here)
• An ad in my ‘Sponsors & Offers’ section (on the right sidebar) for the negotiated period.
• A guaranteed number of mentions via my social media network to be negotiated.

Giveaways:

I’m happy to partner with companies – especially small businesses and artisans – to offer quality giveaways that I think my readers will love. If a brand would like to run a giveaway on The Spring they will have to take responsibility for posting their product out to the winner.

Reviews:

I’m happy to accept a wide range of products and services for review (including items of clothings to be worn in outfit posts) and will blog all about it if…

• I feel the product or service is relevant and useful to my readers.
• The product or service lives up to its claims and I would happily use it again.
• The business whose product or service is being reviewed is willing to become a  sponsor and offer my readers a gift in return for my post (see the Sponsorship outline above).
• I’ll only wear items of clothing/shoes/accessories that I can personally select from  your shop to reflect my personal style.

Thoughts on why bloggers and sponsors go hand in hand:

There’s so much advertising spin out in the world making it difficult for people to trust anything they read and hear about in the media. This is why bloggers (the good ones, with integrity) can be so useful to businesses that have truly excellent products and services for sale. Blogs and their readers have a special, personal relationship based on the readers’ trust in the authenticity of the blogger’s voice. You wouldn’t tell your girlfriend to use a face cream that made your forehead spotty, or to buy a pair of shoes that gave you blisters, then fell apart. This is the basis of the ‘real world’ authority bloggers can bring to your business’ marketing strategy. Readers look to blogs to inspire their purchases (i.e. find out what’s cool, trendy, useful) and advice on how to spend their money wisely on items and experiences that are tested and true.

Sponsorship and The Spring {a disclaimer}:

I reserve the right to be honest about any product or service I talk about on The Spring, whether or not I have been sponsored to do so. If I am given a product or service that I do not care to recommend to my readers, I will politely decline to mention it, and will return the product to its promoters if possible.

I will not write negative reviews because: (a) The Spring is a happy, entertaining space – negativity has no place here; (2) I believe in treating any business that approaches me graciously; (3) I will not waste my readers’ time by asking them to read a post about something I do not love and would not buy myself.
