Catherine Roberts is 33 years old and was raised in Toronto. She studied history in Canada and England before moving to Australia in 2011 as an academic. Upon arriving in Brisbane she started The Spring Blog and The Spring Shop online in 2012.

In May of 2014 Catherine evolved her business from hobby to full time career with the launch of Showroom, an innovative retail and event space housed in a hundred year old Queenslander on leafy Latrobe Terrace, Paddington.

Later that year Catherine co-ran the first Homeroom training workshops for creative entrepreneurs in partnership with her great friend and digital marketing guru Claire Deane.

In July 2015 Showroom moved downtown to a beautiful heritage listed loft at 104 Edward St in the Brisbane CBD. The shop was featured in many magazine and blog (including The Design Files) and Catherine was honoured as a finalist at the Queensland Telstra Business Women's Awards in the start-up category.

Having sold her retail business in early 2016, Catherine has returned to Toronto where she continues to co-run Homeroom and is now helping other small businesses develop their brands and grow their following online + in the real world. She is a keen photographer, a determined business leader, a struggling houseplant minder, and an excellent backgammon player. Catherine can't wait to get her canoe back in the water this northern summer.
