HI, I’M CATHERINE… WELCOME TO THE SPRING

Hi, I’m Catherine. Think of this blog as a window into life around our little cottage in Brisbane’s leafy inner South… If you press your nose up to the glass long enough you’ll see posts about personal style, favourite recipes, crafty projects, home decor, health, beauty, gardening … and my picks for the best things to do, see, and eat in South-East Queensland.

I write this lifestyle blog to share simple ideas for adding unfussy sophistication, extra deliciousness, and more joy to everyday life. The premise of The Spring is to create fun, original, useful content  for women who want to make, do, and find beautiful things without the faff.

The Spring began in late 2010 as a way to catalogue all the things that inspired me as I prepared to make my new home in Australia. Growing up in Toronto I never imagined a life for myself down under, but that all changed when I met my Aussie-born Mr. Spring on a rain-soaked football pitch one chilly Cambridge winter’s day. When it came time to leave our student days behind we rolled the dice together and chose Brisbane as the place to make our start. The rest, as they say, is Spring Blog history.

Now, two years on, The Spring has evolved into a kind of love letter to the good life here in Australia and to the community of local bloggers and readers who have made me feel so embraced.

We’ve also started up a shop where you can find everything you need in the neo-traditional food, craft, and life styling department to make your awesome life look a little bit more Pinterest-worthy! Find us at The Spring Shop.

You can follow The Spring on facebook & twitter & Bloglovin & instagram & you can even get new posts sent straight to your inbox!

Hi! Thanks for your message! I’m following you on blogspot and looking forward to watching your blog grow! I’ll also find you on facebook today. The best advice I could give in terms of expanding your blogs is to find other blogs you like and comment on them. That way other bloggers and their readers can notice you. That’s how I found you! Writing and publicising my blog takes a lot more time that expected, but I love doing it so much, and I hope that shows, it does on yours.
