Hello, I’m Catherine. Welcome to The Spring Blog.

The Spring began in late 2010 as a way to catalogue all the things that inspired me as I prepared to make my new home in Australia. Growing up in Toronto I never imagined a life for myself down under, but that all changed when I met my Aussie-born Mr. Spring on a rain-soaked football pitch one chilly Cambridge winter’s day. When it came time to leave our student days behind we rolled the dice together and chose Brisbane as the place to make our start. The rest, as they say, is Spring Blog history.

Think of this blog as a window into life around our little cottage in Brisbane’s leafy inner South… If you press your nose up to the glass long enough you’ll see posts about personal style, favourite recipes, crafty projects, home decor, health, beauty, gardening … and my picks for the best things to do, see, and eat in South-East Queensland.

Now three years on, The Spring has evolved into a kind of love letter to the good life here in Australia and to the community of local bloggers and readers who have made me feel so embraced.

We’ve also started up a shop where you can find everything you need in the neo-traditional food, craft, and life styling department to make your awesome life look a little bit more Pinterest-worthy! Find us at The Spring Shop online and our new bricks and mortar shopfront called Showroom at 135 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington.

You can follow The Spring on facebook & twitter & Bloglovin & instagram & you can even get new posts sent straight to your inbox!

I just wanted to send you a thank you note. When you commented on my blog I felt like I had been discovered!! I'm new to this and am really trying to embrace it and create something good. I really hope you continue to follow me, cause I'm going to follow you (actually already am)!

Hi! Thanks for your message! I'm following you on blogspot and looking forward to watching your blog grow! I'll also find you on facebook today. The best advice I could give in terms of expanding your blogs is to find other blogs you like and comment on them. That way other bloggers and their readers can notice you. That's how I found you! Writing and publicising my blog takes a lot more time that expected, but I love doing it so much, and I hope that shows, it does on yours.

Hi Rukmini, Thanks so much! I've done a few international orders of little things (and the price has been ok!) but box boxes just get too expensive to send, so if you want to order something, let me know and I'll find out about postage for you. Have a great week! x Catherine

    Hi Catherine!
Your blog is absolutely beautiful and food photography just stunning. I'm a bit the same in that I started my blog after moving up to Brissy (which I now feel I can truly call home) so it's wonderful to find someone with a similar experience :)
Your post and advice on moving into the creative industries was also a great read - I've taken notes! And I can't wait to try making that no churn peanut butter ice cream for myself :P

I wanted to tell you that your twitter link, above, is broken. I can figure it out from what I see but there is a # or something in the link. Thanks for such a great blog. I'm going to continue stalking you now. ha :) ~Heidi
