On Saturday I had the great pleasure of attending the Nuffnang Blogopolis 2012 conference… a whole day of talking about blogging, learning about blogging, and meeting some of my favourite Australian bloggers in person for the very first time. I have so much advice to share (I’ll be talking about creating content, SEO, and the first steps towards monetizing) in upcoming posts.
After listening to the expert panellists (and taking 14 pages of notes… with pen and paper) I’ve certainly been inspired to have a big think about how I can blog smarter. Content-wise, the conference certainly delivered. But what I valued most about the day was mixing it with the ladies of the Australian blogging community. This group, from its super stars on down to its bloggers-to-be, is welcoming, supportive, and keenly aware that success in the industry comes to those whose generosity of spirit motivates their readership to become most fully engaged. The blogging world is no place for mean girls. And getting involved is a super fun way to make smart, funny friends.
