{Modern Vintage Style: Geoffrey Beene silk skirt (1970s); Anne Klein fine knit silk tee (1990s); vintage Art Deco handbag (1930s); 9 West nude patent leather pumps; delicate turquoise, silver & gold bracelets}
Nothing makes me feel more feminine and sophisticated than slipping into a cherished vintage designer piece, so when we do get around to planning a special date night I always build my outfit around treasures from my collection. When it comes to modern vintage style, the rule I follow is to pair something dressy with something simple, like this late ’70s lilac skirt paired and simple aubergine silk tee. It’s the easiest way to update a classic silhouette and the same principle works for accessories too. On the rare occasion that I carry something as precious as this hand-embroidered Art Deco purse, I like to keep the shoes and jewellery understated and entirely non-competitive.
