Tucked down among the boutiques of tony Williams Street in Paddington is a little shop that seems as though it’s been created from my own daydreams. However, all credit for the charming I Like Birds goes to former florist Tamara Turnbull, store owner and curator of the beautiful collection of vintage treasures and flea-market finds guaranteed to delight anyone reading this blog. Tamara offers up all manner of hand-picked curios including old books, games, bottles, twines, kitchen wares, hand-painted cards, large and small pieces of furniture, a mounted moose head (now on sale!) and stunning potted succulents in the courtyard garden oasis. It’s not just the bits and pieces on offer but the inspiration behind how they’re arranged that make visiting this shop a regular must-do for me. And for anyone looking to make their own homes feel more lovingly eclectic or out shopping for a quirky friend, this address is a great resource to keep in your back patchwork pocket. 14 Williams St. Paddington 2021 tel: 0293315501
