Last weekend my bloggy friends Jas and Claire suggested Sunday brunch at The Gunshop Cafe in West End. A few months ago this foodie favourite delivered the most spectacular dinner I’ve enjoyed in Australia, so it was a relief to find the morning offerings just as special. There’s often an inverse relationship between the popularity of an eatery and the friendliness of its staff, but somehow the Gunshop has avoided this pitfall. I think it’s simply the most pleasant place to eat in Brisbane. If fact, the atmosphere, flavours and (most of all) the company of the Sweet Lime girls were so enthralling that I barely managed to snap any photos. More’s the pity, because The Gunshop is a beautiful space and, it turns out, incredibly photogenic in the late morning light.

We had such a good time catching up! Must do it again soon. xx
I love brunch at The Gunshop Cafe! The queues for it on the weekend can be crazy.
There was a queue when we showed up at 10, but we were at a table sipping on tea within 10 minutes or so. To be honest, I was a little surprised we got a table at all as I know how popular The Gunshop is, but Jass and Claire (who I think it’s fair to say make a regular habit of brunching there) assured me that the lines always move quickly and they always manage to get a spot. It’s a lot more than can be said about so many other popular breakfast places, where the wait staff looks at you like you’re insane if you’ve not made a booking and shown up for it promptly!
Teresa, how’s the trip down South going? I’ve been thinking of you hitting the open road with much envy over the last week! x

Love the Gunshop Cafe! I’ve been meaning to go back for a while now, unfortunately I don’t tend to venture into West End too often. Hope you have a lovely week x
