Happy Thanksgiving! This past weekend has been spent cooking, eating, and sharing old family traditions from Canada with my new family here in Australia. I tried my hand at ‘live blogging’ the experience for my twitter followers, but for those missed the feed (pun intended!), here’s a recap!

Wishing all my friends and family back home a very happy thanksgiving!

wow!!! Looks like you did a fantastic job!!
Thanks Jas, all the work was SO worth it!
Catherine I loved your updates today! This makes me want to entertain for friends BADLY
It all looks so scrumptious, makes me want to do my own Thanksgiving dinner, albeit next month
I especially love the pumpkin pie, bravo for that. Tell me, did you have any trouble getting the “right” kind of pumpkin?? That’s been an issue for me in Aussie Thanksgivings in the past.
I know it’s not the same as the stewed pumpkin we get canned at home, but I find cooked jarandale works well and it’s usually pretty cheap. X Catherine
Hi Hun, looks very authentisch and yummy. My turkey is cooking now. The pumpkin pie is ready and waiting to be attacked! Whipped cream WILL be on tap. Luv Ma

It looks like you created such a beautiful and tasty day, Catherine! If I were part of your new Brisbane family, I would have had a lot to be thankful for at this meal.
I feel at home just looking at these images, even though my Thanksgiving is more than a month away. Thanks for filling my apartment with wafts of pumpkin pie and childhood memories on this lovely morning, and thank you so much for discovering my blog! -Jennifer
