Billy Buttons

by Catherine on September 20, 2011

I found this simple tutorial for faux craspedia (or felt Billy Buttons) on one of my favourite design/ DIY blogs, Design Sponge. All it took to put this display together was a quick trip to Spotlight for roving wool, a nip into the local flower shop for a few strands of 20 gage floral wire, a drop of hand soap, and 15 minutes of my lunch break. (Days like this when I’m feeling crafty, working from home can’t be beat!) I love the sunny optimism and vintage charm of these beautifully textural orbs, and the feeling of summery simplicity they bring to my afternoon tea breaks in The Spring Cottage living room!

P.S. In case you didn’t already know, Design Sponge has a new book out - Design Sponge at Home! I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy AND I’ll be keeping you posted about author/blogger Grace Bonney’s Sydney and Melbourne tour dates set for sometime in mid 2012! In the mean time, here are some shots from the book to get you in the mood!
