Andy and I picked up the latest (September/October) issue of Inside Out magazine this morning on our way to the coffee shop. He wove his way around the patio tables looking for any pats he could get, and I dove right in to all the beautiful photos! There are some great tips on translating visual inspiration into home décor and minimising clutter – a battle I constantly feel I’m losing at The Spring Cottage (and anywhere else I’ve ever lived, come to think of it). Plus Julie from Olive and Joy, one of The Spring’s favourite designer/bloggers, had her Ottoman featured in the ‘best buys’ section… I couldn’t agree more!

Hi Catherine, I love your blog and I am coming back with a fresh cup of tea on my next day off to have a proper read. Andy is adorable and brings back sweet memories of two of our faithful old departed dogs. I am a sucker for a scruffy black dog. I don’t know what is is about Brisbane, but some of the nicest blogs are from Brisvegas. Happy days Deb
I absolutely LOVE this month’s issue as well. I pinned loads of the pics to my pinterest as well, including the gorgeous grey bathroom you’ve pictured above!
I’m with you on minimising clutter – a little, carefully chosen, looks artful, but a lot looks like it’s owned by someone who can’t let go. That bathroom is lovely – the expanse of window behind the old-fashioned bath looks great.
Hi Catherine. Your blog is just lovely. I’m also a fan of Olive & Joy. Tracie x
Thank you for the lovely write-up! So glad you enjoyed the latest issue and its photos and ideas (how nice it would be to live clutter-free – that would be the dream). I’ve just added your fine blog to our blogroll, too: http://blogs.homelife.com.au/insideout
Thanks again,

Hey Spring Blog,
The little black dog is the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen on a blog. Andy is such a sweet name as well. It makes me so happy just to look at the photo of him. I hope you treat him like the angel that he is and spoil him with pats and snuggles.
