Cane Club Chairs – Before & After

in Projects, The Spring At Home

Of all my planned sewing projects, I was most daunted by the prospect of recovering the cushions of these old cane club chairs. I put the project off for weeks, but when I came across this charming ticking stripe on sale for only $6 per meter at Spotlight, it seemed like a sign to give it a try. I did the simplest possible job, but I think it looks quite polished. The stripes even line up straight down the seat and back rest! Result!

{Before: the mildewed, and oh-so-dated fabric covers}

{After: the pale blue ticking stripe cushions are fresh, clean, and inviting}
